Well, I'm guessing this week is looking to just be a rest week. No, the schedule does not call for a rest week just 2.5 weeks away from race day, but my legs are saying otherwise. So, despite my internal NEED to run, I'm restraining....holding back.
Today, after meeting with a friend/nutritionist, I'm feeling less overwhelmed about the new change in diet. The homemade gluten-free bread and brownies that she made me sure hit the spot. I'm now fully equipped with cookbooks, websites, snack ideas, and the like. I've missed my pb&j sandwiches!! I feel like I need to eat 4000 calories to feel energized again, so at least I'm getting a good jumpstart today.
Massage therapy was more than perfect today, my legs are feeling less tight and less fatigued than they had been. I was hoping to do the track workout tonight, but a little voice inside my head is reminding me of the bigger picture at hand. Since the knee hasn't recovered, there's no reason to force a tough sprint workout that'll leave me farther behind in my training. So, I'm opting for a restful evening, PT with Brian tomorrow and if all goes well, a long run on Friday. The only question is where to do the long run and I wish I didn't have to run it alone quite frankly. I think (I know) I'd be willing to pay someone to either run or bike it with me, it's going to be a hot, long 17 mile run. Mental toughness is not one of my strengths.
I will enjoy another running day off tomorrow, maybe will get in some yoga and stretching, but that's about it.

Rest well :-) if I lived nearby I'd bike for you
I know you would!! In fact, if you could, it would mean you were all better--so I wish it were so!! I just hope I get to see you in Duluth, but if not then, I'll be back in Oct. If I had money, I'd live in MN for the summers. :)
Please take care of yourself!!! I'm praying for you!
