I promise, I'll do better tomorrow

I never should have gone down the candy isle at Target.....but I did, I ventured down the isle right to the peanut m&m's and grabbed the biggest bag I could find.  Bad idea, but couldn't resist the temptation.  I promise, I'll eat fewer of them tomorrow or I'll just have to give the bag away to someone with self-control.

Today was an 8 mile progressive run that ended up being done on the treadmill.  One of my children had driver's ed this morning, the other one tennis camp, so me and the baby headed to the fitness club so he could attend the child care and I could get in a run.  Why don't they put a ceiling on the child care room?  Why is it just four walls in the middle of the club?  I'll never get that.  Ran the first mile listening to the baby scream.  Ran mile two listening to him cry.  Ran mile three.....still crying.  Jumped off the machine, ran to the car, grabbed his favorite blanket, ran back to the child care room to make sure the lady was okay with him crying for at least one more mile, then hopped back on the treadmill.  Ran mile four listening to off and on crying.  Mile five, six and seven were much of the same sounds.  Mile 8 back to crying all out.  No stretching, no weights, no shower, just a quick jolt to the locker to get my things.  Through the tears and coughs he kept saying, "bye bye, bye bye."  So that's what we did.  It wasn't a peaceful, scenic run nor was it a stress reliever type of run, but it did get the job done.  And really, he was just fine the whole time.

I want to be ready on race day, I don't want to relax or skip workouts at this point, so I'll take them how they come.  Tomorrow will be better, the sitter will come and I'll get in a speed workout/tempo run that'll put my legs back in shape.  No more m&m's either....

The final countdown begins....12 days to go.
