I always find it interesting to "people watch" at fitness clubs. Today I chose to avoid the heat and humidity and just run on the treadmill at the club. Even though the 8 miles seemed to drag on forever, I was at least able to watch some Wimbledon. Running outside is the best way to go, but there's something good about doing a little treadmill run. The treadmill forces you to keep pace, to stay steady, and unless you want to fly off the back end, you must keep going. With the treadmill set at a 7:53 pace, I was able to run a flat 8 miles with a personal TV to stare at, a fan blowing in my face, and a chance to people watch.
Upper body weights followed the run today along with some core. It felt good to lift hard and furious since I took most of last week off from just about everything. I'm sure I consumed enough calories yesterday alone to have run another 20 miles today, but I am staying on my schedule.
Looking forward to watching USA women's soccer game tonight! I recorded it this morning so I could watch it in peace and quiet this evening.
