Sheer satisfaction, finished all 22 miles!!!! Official time, 3:07:44, an 8:30 ave pace. Can't believe my lungs survived, happy about that for sure! Finally kicked that monkey off my back, this long run is no longer looming over me like a dead weight.
Started the run on the ATT, headed south to the parkway, then followed the race course over to the start/finish area. I wanted to run both the first several miles of the course as well as the last several, both were accomplished today. Running the course helps me visualize my steps, gives me confidence in knowing the elevation, and allows me to "pretend" it's race day. It felt good to run the course, I enjoyed some new scenery too.
Wednesday is supposed to be 9 x 800's, but I'm thinking that my lungs won't be able to handle that stress, so will postpone until Thursday. Glad I have two children with asthma, their inhalers certainly come in handy!!
