Today's workout? 7 x 800's. Yep, like a mouse on a wheel, around and around the track I went. Thankfully I had Jamie to keep us on task, otherwise I may have given up after the 4th one. For some reason, I couldn't find that comfortable gait, that place where my legs just take over and the body follows. Each lap felt like a struggle, it was certainly hard to keep my mind focused and pace even. The result? All 800's between 3:20-3:35, definitely much slower pace than the last 3 weeks. Chalk it up to a bad track day, move on.
In looking ahead, I'm still contemplating a Fall marathon schedule. Part of me would like to try some new races, part of me would like to try an ultra, and part of me wants to run races close to home. Possibilities are Richmond, Grand Canyon, Seattle, OBX, 40 mile in Greensboro, Niagra Falls, and Savannah. Hmmmm....now to figure it out and narrow it down.
