Being the type A personality that I am, I love schedules and lists, order and sense, predictability and routine. This is what helps me find the focus necessary to put together a jam packed running/workout plan. It's fall racing season, my favorite time of year to run and the best time to find great races with incredible causes. I find myself scouring running plans, new routes, pace plans, and tend to spend hours putting together a running schedule/calendar/plan that will take me through the fall, winter, and spring seasons with flying colors. We've come off of a hot, slow, running reduced summer that has me now yearning to get back into the groove of running hard. It's strange, but I long for tempo runs, weight training, hill workouts, and long run Fridays. I'm excited about a new running season, a new year full of possibilities and new PR's, and a chance to set new goals.
Next up on the agenda is this Sunday's Ramblin' Rose half marathon. Just 2 weeks out from the Twin Cities marathon and I'm ready to roll once again. I don't feel prepared for a shorter race, I haven't done weight lifting or hill workouts in months, but I'm ready to get back on the wagon and roll. After this weekend, I'll head back into a new training plan in hopes of shedding another 10 minutes off my marathon PR.
