Today marks the 14th day without a Coke (or any soft drink that is). This is a LONG stretch.....it's been a looooonnnnggg time. I can't say I've lost any pounds, don't really feel any differently (except more tired by 5pm), haven't reaped any immediate benefits so I'm struggling to see the point...ugh (yes, I do know the long term benefits). Now that I don't do ANYTHING bad, what shall I do? It's almost too boring, maybe I should replace it with a different bad habit.
Since the half marathon on Oct. 16th, I've tried to put in a few track workouts and a few shorter "long" runs and I'm feeling great! In two weeks I'll be running another half, City of Oaks, so I thought today was a good day to put in a 13 mile run on a hillier course. The following weekend will be another full marathon, although I'm still debating as to whether or not I'll run it (due to scheduling conflicts).
My bestest running friend from MN sent me an AWESOME video of our Twin Cities Marathon!! I enjoyed watching it (cried a little too) as I was once again reminded of how thankful I am to be able to run. I don't know if I'll enjoy anything as much as running and I don't know how many years I'll be able to run, so I'm grateful for each race I can do.
I'm still floundering with my running schedule, I can't seem to figure out what to do until Boston training begins on Dec. 18. I'm not sure if I should put in a good solid base, work on more conditioning, or cut back on the running, I'm at a loss. Don't want to tire the legs out too much before the training begins but also want to put forth the best and toughest training yet to date. Shaving another 10 min. off my current PR will be tough, so need to figure out the best (and safest) way to do that.
Massage therapy in the morning!!!
