Continued motivation at last!

So thankful that this week has been a great workout week! Finally, I think I'm on the upswing. Sunday was the tri, Monday was a 9 mile run, Tuesday was a 20mile bike followed by 1800 yds in the pool, Wednesday my legs needed a vacation, the quads were screaming, so I did 2000 in the pool. Monday and Wednesday happened to be tennis match days, we're in tournament play right now so need to be on top of my game. I started seeing stars and feeling a bit whoozy in the first set of Monday's match, so with a little pout of the lip and nearly falling to my knees begging, my coach bought me a couple power bars so I could finish out the match. Good thing because we ended up going into a 10 point tie-breaker to determine the match (which I won!!!) Thursday I attempted to run 5.5 mi WITHOUT the ITband brace, the longest run so far without it on. No problems while running, just a little toward the end, but by that night I could feel the pain coming back more than usual. Bummer! Today I just needed a good 2000 yd swim and soak in the hot tub, so that was my morning. I had another match at noon today (horrible match) so that completed my day. Saturday is my 12 mile run, I'm looking so forward to it! I know this is horrible, but I haven't practiced drinking or taking supplements on any of my runs thus far so I'm planning on taking some GU's with me tomorrow. I had never taken in water or anything in any run/race up to 13.2 miles until a year ago, I have a hard time keeping liquids down while running. So, tomorrow is day one of wearing my water bottle belt and hoping not to vomit. Don't know why my body tends to reject items pushed into the stomach during a run but it does. I usually take shotbloks with me if I run over an hour but I've found that I need something to last me a bit longer, so I'll try the GU. I want so badly to do the Trail Mix 25K this weekend but I can't push the ITband to do more than it's ready for, so I'll run on my own. Besides, the 5th River Bank Run is May 10 and that's a 25K that I'll be ready for!
