Unfortunately, back in Minnesota....

Memories of warm, sunny days spent in North Carolina are quickly fading as the snow here in MN begins to fall. The snow, though beautiful as it sticks to each twig on the barren trees, would have been welcomed back in December but now that it's officially spring, it's sad to see it fall. The grass was just beginning to show, birds were beginning to sing, both the bike and running paths around the lake were finally cleared off, only now to be covered with nearly six inches of snow.

The tiny little plane that we hopped on!

The past 10 days were spent in Michigan and North Carolina with the whole family. We (me, husband, and both our kids) took the Honda Pilot to Michigan. Instead of driving ahead of the snow storm, we ended up driving in it the whole way! The roads were horrible but we made it safely in nearly 12 hrs (took us 8 hrs. to get home). My mom and I took the kids to see High School Musical on Ice, fun fun. I also had a chance to run a fun 5 mile run with my dad Sat. morning and spent time hanging out with my siblings (in-laws too)! Then we hopped on a plane and flew to N.C. for the week. Temps were in the 60's-80's for the week with plenty of sunshine! Since I haven't done a trail run since last summer, I took advantage of the amazing trails through the woods of Durham. The hotel swimming pool was a mere 44' in length, I nearly got dizzy going back and forth so many times. :)

Now that I'm back, I need to get back on a more rigid routine. My body still feels like it's on vacation so I'm hoping that after reading Lana's blog I can find that inner determination to succeed.

Tomorrow will have to be a swim and bike indoor day, there's way too much ice and snow on the ground for a run. Only 13 days left to the LTF indoor tri, why did I take a vacation!! I must snap out of this laziness and get back into it.

Hoping for a better week.
