Most people decorate their bedroom walls with beautiful artwork and pieces that promote peace or tranquility. I have now decorated the walls of our room with training schedules, lists of upcoming races, and medals representing races I have accomplished. Usually I keep a journal where I can tuck my schedule inside of it, but now that I'm attempting to train for a tri and a marathon at the same time, I'm not sure how else to do this.
This morning I had to bike before doing my swim (time constraint-don't worry tri dummy, I showered before I entered the pool!) I had a great ride, really pushed myself just to see what my legs can do at this point. I didn't realize how hard I had pushed myself until I finished my first 100 in the pool!! Holy cow, I drank nearly half the pool! I was gasping for air, how do tri athletes do this?! I took a 30 sec. breather to regain composure, and spit out as much water as possible, then took off again. I finished the 750 yds that I was supposed to accomplish today and actually felt much stronger after 200. If it weren't for my tennis match at 11am, I would have swam a bit more. Next time I WILL swim before hopping on the bike!!
There's a master's swim class and a triathlon training group that meets once/week at Lifetime, I'm thinking this might be the right classes for me to join. I still have no idea what to expect, but I guess through trial and error I will figure things out. My only fear is to be the very last person crossing the finish line. :)

You'll love the journey into Tri-world!! have fun and enjoy it all - even the big gulps of gross pool water!!
Great job Lora!! You are doing great! And I miss you and Kari! Wish we could work out together. I guess "virtually through our blogs" will have to be good enough, though.
Did you get a bike or are you on the stationary bike? If you are on the stationary bike, don't worry - it gets much better when you have a regular bike. Of course I guess a bike doesn't do you a whole lot of good when you've still got freezing temps. I forgot about that!
